Delays Persist on Charlotte’s Web Rules

Delays continue for the rules on the state's legalized low-THC marijuana extract known as "Charlotte's Web," the Orlando Sentinel reports.

A Jacksonville law group filed legal challenges against the Department of Health for its second round of final rules, claiming the new rules the department worked out this winter are vague and arbitrary, and that they’d lead the state to select growers who are "the most politically connected, not the best qualified,” the Sentinel reports.

The law was supposed to make the medicine available by Jan. 1 to people with severe epilepsy or other disabling conditions that involve tremors, but previous delays for the state to select and license growers and produce the medicine, pushed the earliest availability to mid-summer, at best, according to the Sentinel.
