As Hurricane Florence approached North and South Carolina Thursday, Cyndee O’Quinn from the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network joined Sundial to give us the latest details on the storm.
A new poll from the National Hurricane Survival Initiative states one in five Floridians won’t evacuate during a hurricane. Craig Fugate is the former director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management and former administrator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He joined Sundial to talk about hurricane preparedness and the reasons why Floridians chose not leave during the hurricanes.
One Thousand Museum Residencesis legendary architect Zaha Hadid’s final high-rise residential tower and continuing legacy building. It is easily distinguishable by its curved exo structure and is currently under construction in downtown Miami.
When completed it will be a 62-story tower with more than 80 half- and full-floor residents. Hadid received the prestigious and honorary architecture Pritzker award given to one architect a year for their contributions to the art. She died in Miami in March of 2016 from a sudden heart attack after battling bronchitis in a Miami hospital.

Shira Lee is a folk and jazz musician in several different bands, an actress and a writer. BaBa Yaga Arts Wagon, a Knight Foundation-funded mobile performance space here in Miami, is her brainchild -- it's a stage attached to a truck bed, used in public spaces throughout the city for live theatrical, musical and dance performances. Lee will perform live in concert at the Home Grown Festival, Sunday, Sept. 23 at the University of Miami.
