The grief and mourning continue for the 17 students and staff killed on the afternoon of Feb. 14 during a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. But something else is happening among the anguish of the interrupted lives of the victims and survivors. Out of the agony, activism has emerged and students from across South Florida are speaking out together asking for stricter gun controls. Here's a list of grief counseling resources available for the community.

Threats of violence against schools have been reported all across Florida since the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, on Feb. 14.

The spike of threats in Florida seems to bein line with a national trend reported by the Educators School Safety Network, which says it recorded about 50 threats a day on average since the shooting at Parkland. The usual number, according to the organization, is about 10 threats a day on average.

The WGCU News team is compiling information about credible threats in the following interactive map. Click on each circle to get available details of the reported incident, including location of the school, date of the threats and if charges were made. You can also scroll down the map and read the information in a list. All the stories are developing, so the information will be updated as we learn more.

As for the methodology of the map, WGCU's Rachel Iacovone explains:

WGCU relies on the reporting of credible local media outlets and law enforcement agencies across the state to compile this data. There are a number of doctored, online threats made to schools in other states that happen to share names with some schools in Florida; those are immediately traced and deemed not credible by law enforcement in most cases and, thus, are not included in WGCU's reporting — to keep the spread of sensationalism at a minimum. If a threat led to an arrest of a minor, even if named by other media outlets, WGCU has kept the minor's name out of the description and instead included a gender and age, if provided.
