Rep. Kionne McGhee, D-Miami, is proposing a two-month long sales tax holiday for honorably discharged veterans. His bill went no where in the last session.

Qualifying veterans would get the break from November through December.

The tax breaks would apply to clothing and fitness equipment costing $100 or less, personal computer equipment costing $1,500 or less and books costing $50 or less.

The bill is filed for the 2018 session. McGhee made a similar attempt in the last legislative session, but it failed to get a hearing.
