  • Mike Levine Performs Live

    05/11/12 - Next time on South Florida Arts Beat, renowned music educator, composer and pianist, Mike Levine, performs contemporary Jazz compositions from his latest recording, “Thinking Of You.” A stalwart of South Florida’s Jazz scene for decades with numerous recordings under his belt, Mike’s latest CD features his signature brand of contemporary, melodic Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and Latin influences so synonymous with “the Miami sound.”  The band will feature the veteran saxophonist, Billy Ross, Lindsay Blair on guitar, Mike’s son, Sam Levine, on drums, Rafael Valencia – bass and Richard Bravo on percussion. Join us to enjoy Mike Levine’s unique, contemporary Jazz compositions from his latest recording Friday on South Florida Arts Beat at 1:00pm.

    04/27/12 - Next time on South Florida Arts Beat, we’ll present a studio performance featuring Jamie Ousley. This grand musician is a professor of Jazz bass at Florida International University. Recently named “Best South Florida Jazz Musician of 2011” by Boca Life Magazine, his previous CD, “Back Home” was named “Best South Florida Jazz Release of 2010” by The Palm Beach Post. You’ll hear his melodic, latest recording, “A Sea Of Voices” Friday at 1:00pm on South Florida Arts Beat.
