In its latest experiment with performances and outdoor spaces, New World Symphony will host an evening of music and meditation this Friday.

The symphony is partnering with lululemon to produce a night of classical music and yoga training on the 11th at 7 p.m. 

Love it or hate it, nightlife is huge here.  And one person determines whether you go home in shame or spend the night in glory.  The doorman.

We asked Under the Sun’s assistant producers, Trina Sargalski and Kenny Malone, to capture the drama of the Velvet Rope.  Little did they know, they’d get roped in, themselves.

UPDATE  June 6, 2013 14:43 p.m.: (AP) Esther Williams, the swimming champion turned actress who starred in glittering and aquatic Technicolor musicals of the 1940s and 1950s, has died. She was 91.

Williams died early Thursday in her sleep, according to her longtime publicist Harlan Boll.

Following in the footsteps of Sonja Henie, who went from skating champion to movie star, Williams became one of Hollywood's biggest moneymakers, appearing in spectacular swimsuit numbers that capitalized on her wholesome beauty and perfect figure.
