Voter Check-In: Clinton Supporter

DAVID GREENE, HOST:

And on this morning after the election, we're checking back in with voters we met in recent weeks as part of our series Divided States. One of them was Diana Font. She's from Florida, where she owns an event planning business. She is a Republican who told us last month that she would be supporting Hillary Clinton.

DIANA FONT: I can't see anything good coming out of this. With his mouth, he's going to piss somebody off and put us into World War III. That's my fear. I just can't believe that this is happening.

GREENE: Diana Font, giving us her reaction to the results last night. Now, moving forward, she says she wants to see her Republican Party do a better job cultivating a pool of candidates. And if they do not, she says she might abandon the party.

FONT: So the Republicans better get their act together, and next time, give us a real candidate because obviously they lost control of him.

GREENE: That is Diana Font, one of the voters we met in Florida as part of our series Divided States. We're reaching back and chatting with some of them this morning and listening to their reaction to the results of last night, when Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States of America. Much more to come on the program this morning. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
