He commissions, edits and curates WLRN News’ online content, and leads the development of the newsroom’s digital platforms and strategy.
Matheus has over 20 years as a reporter, foreign correspondent, editor and news director, starting at a local newspaper in gritty northern England, through to national and regional publications in London and then at an international news agency, covering Europe from Paris and the Americas from Miami.
As a Brazilian who grew up in gloomy England, the blast of humid July air that greeted him on his arrival at MIA was love at first sight. A decade or two later, he occasionally catches himself saying 'soccer.'

Hurricane Ian became a Category 2 storm while its forecast cone shifted slightly east, bringing the northern edge of Palm Beach County under tropical storm watch Monday evening.
