Matheus has over 20 years as a reporter, foreign correspondent, editor and news director, starting at a local newspaper in gritty northern England, through to national and regional publications in London and then at an international news agency, covering Europe from Paris and the Americas from Miami.
As a Brazilian who grew up in rainy England, the blast of humid July air that greeted him on his arrival at MIA was love at first sight. A decade or two later, he occasionally catches himself saying 'soccer.'
