With coronavirus cases spiking in Palm Beach County, commissioners are considering making mask-wearing mandatory in public buildings.
“To give up and just say we’re going to let this spread unabated is not acceptable,” Commissioner Gregg Weiss said during a commission meeting on Tuesday.
Commissioners did not make a final decision on masks and agreed to discuss it when they meet again on June 25.
Weiss raised the prospect of mandating mask wearing after Dr. Alina Alonso, director of the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County, presented yet another stark set of numbers showing that virus cases are surging again.
