Eduardo Cabra was the man behind the music.
For nearly a decade, he produced the sound of the hit Puerto Rican band, Calle 13. He went by the name Visitante, and, with his brother, they won three Grammys.
We learned the sound of his music. Now, he’s showing us the sound of his voice.
Eduardo shed the stage name Vistante and he's fully embracing life as the solo artist Cabra. His second album, Martínez, was nominated this year for a Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album for songs like "Toco Madera."
He’s also using his experience to help produce other artists looking for their big break. Which is why he was recently in Miami with singer Daymé Arocena.
He’s no longer just producing behind the scenes. He’s collaborating, singing, rapping and he's showing us what’s new — and what’s next for him.
On Sundial's previous episode, we spoke to Gladys Ramírez who is directing the play La Gringa for its Miami debut. She told us how the play speaks to Miami and how it helped her learn about her own search for identity.
