On the Tuesday, Oct. 1, episode of Sundial:

Should College Athletes Get Paid?

House Democratic Leader Kionne McGhee is pushing for a bill (HB 251)that would allow college athletes at public and private universities in Florida to sign endorsement deals with major companies. On Monday, California's Governor signed a similar bill. Under current rules, these deals are prohibited. If passed McGhee's bill would go into effect July 1, 2020. Florida Rep. McGhee joined Sundial to talk about how this bill puts the interest of college students first.

Art After Stonewall Exhibition

The exhibition, “Art after Stonewall, 1969 -1989” is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots of 1969. It features a series of films, video art, photography, paintings and historical documents from magazines and newspapers. Sundial producer Chris Remington talked to Jonathan Weinberg, the art curator, about the historical significance of LGBTQ activism and bringing these stories to the spotlight. The exhibition is currently on display at the Florida International University Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum until Jan. 5, 2020.

The Marlins

The Major League Baseball regular season ended on Sunday. The Miami Marlins finished with a win over the Philadelphia Phillies (4-3) but were dead last in the National League.
