Governor Rick Scott and opponent Charlie Crist will debate Tuesday for the final time before the Nov. 4 election.
CNN will host both candidates at the WJXT-TV studios in Jacksonville.
Co-moderator Jake Tapper, from CNN's "The Lead," says unlike the debate last week at Broward College in Davie, this debate will take place in a space with no audience and few reporters.
"There’s a different energy when it's just you and a person or you and two people, than when you have an audience that's providing you with energy and adrenaline or in some cases sapping you of it. I also think, hopefully, it will be easier to get answers to questions."
Tapper adds he hopes to introduce more and new topics that were skipped over in the last two debates.
"Absolutely, we're talking about new topics, but we're also looking at some of the ones that are very important for instance, the economy and jobs, trying to figure out ways to knock them off their talking points and get them to answer questions that reveal, aspects of their leadership, aspects of how they view their leadership, their responsibilities, so it's a combination."
Tapper says he understands that the voters of Florida are upset over the nastiness of this campaign and want straight answers to questions.
Most polls show the candidates in a dead heat. A recent CNN poll as well as a Rasmussen Report are calling this a tie.
The debate is at Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.
