Hot Meals For People Without Power Around Miami-Dade on Friday

From South Miami-Dade to Miami Gardens community groups and government officials are feeding people who might still be without power after Hurricane Irma.

WLRN compiled a list of  free community meals being served on Friday, Sept 15. Many of the groups hosting are also seeking volunteers and donations. 

Florida City

What: Farm Share distribution with free food, water, and blankets 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Where: Farm Share’s Florida City Facility, 300 N. Krome Ave., Florida City

What: Hot meals at 12 p.m. (volunteers welcome, just show up)

Where: Eureka Park, 18320 SW 119 Ave., Miami

Coconut Grove:

What: Community picnic hosted by Miami Commissioner Ken Russell at 4 p.m.

Where: Regatta Park, 2699 SW 27th Ave, Miami

Where: Black Police Museum, 480 NW 11 St, Miami 

Little Haiti:

What: Pre-packaged meals, water, ice from 9 a.m. to noon

Where: Notre Dame D'Haiti Catholic Church, 110 NE 62 St
 

What: Bar-b-que, hot food and snacks from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.

Where: Little Haiti Cultural Complex, 212 NE 59th Terrace, Miami

What: Hot dinners being served to the community at 5 p.m.
