For many folks in South Florida and across the country, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' comments about Cuba touched a raw nerve. During a 60 Minutes interview that aired Sunday, Sanders praised the education and health care programs of Fidel Castro, while saying he is "very opposed to the authoritarian nature of Cuba."
Despite the outcry in the U.S., Sanders made the front page of the Cuban government's newspaper this week.
On the South Florida Roundup, host Tom Hudson talked about the Cuban response to Sanders. He was joined by Patrick Oppmann, CNN Havana bureau chief, Nora Gamez Torres, a reporter with the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, and WLRN's Americas editor Tim Padgett.
