Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, many people in South Florida’s arts and entertainment world might have had to change lanes and slow down a bit — but they haven’t hit the brakes.

They’re adapting to a changed and challenging performance landscape they could not have foreseen a few months ago.

Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts wants to create, what it calls, an “artistic time capsule” of Miami’s pandemic experience. And it's offering artists some seed money to get it started.

WLRN is committed to providing South Florida with trusted news and information. In these uncertain times, our mission is more vital than ever. Your support makes it possible. Please donate today. Thank you.

Arsht is inviting Miami-Dade based performing artists to participate in the Center’s new Heart of Artonline commissioning project.

"Art In The Time Of Coronavirus" aims to gather artistic responses to the pandemic. Thirty Miami artists will be selected and commissioned, receiving $1,000 individual awards. Arsht is accepting video submissions for the project.

The next submission deadline is July 13.

You can find details on the video proposals, submission criteria and other information at arshtcenter.org/heart-art-submission.
