Miramar Prepares To Build 5,000-Seat Amphitheater

Courtesy of the City of Miramar

The new theater at Miramar Regional Park is being built on the hopes that it will bring national events and major concerts to the venue. Filling 5,000 seats is a big undertaking.

Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton is smaller -- 3,400 seats. When it opened in 2002, it had trouble booking events. The non-profit that ran the theater then moved its operations to the City of Boca Raton.

The City of Miramar is running the new theater and trying to fill seats by working with the ticket vendor Live Nation.

Miramar is also getting a hand from the Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, which plans to help out with booking.

The Miramar Regional Park amphitheater should be completed September or October 2015.
