Parts Of I-95 In Miami Will Close For The Next Two Weeks

Sep 23, 2019

For the next few weeks, getting in and out of downtown Miami will be a bit of a challenge for people who use I-95 to get there.

Starting this week, parts of I-95 will be shutting down for night-time construction.

Tonight, tomorrow night and Thursday night — all southbound I-95 lanes will be closed — from the Airport Expressway to the Dolphin Expressway between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

All northbound lanes on I-95 will also be closed from SR 836/I-395 to SR 112/I-195 on select dates starting Wednesday, also between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

The closures are part of a major project aimed at reconstructing the I-395 corridor. The Florida Department of Transportation and Miami-Dade Expressway Authority will be erecting five overhead signs over I-95.
