Drinking, singing and Scottish theater will all take hold of Miami's BAR 337, formerly the PAX space, during the production of "The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart."
The National Theatre of Scotland will interpret the play as part of Miami Dade College's "Live Arts" series.
The play is performed in "immersive style." Unlike in traditional theater, there is no stage. The actors use the locale and whatever props are present to move the story forward.
Lead character Prudencia Hart is an uptight academic who is in transit to a conference in the Scottish Borders, the area between England and Scotland. After getting snowed in at a bar, Hart finds herself surrounded by strangers who take her through a cheerful, dark and mystical journey of self-discovery through song and dance.
In Prudencia's case, the actors will sing and dance on tables, chairs and even the bar itself, all while using objects commonly found inside bars.
The Live Arts series is part of MDC's cultural affairs department. The series' aim is to present MDC students and community with a wide range of global artists and perspectives from outside the South Florida region.

"The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart" runs from Feb. 19- 23 at BAR 337 (formerly PAX) located at 337 SW. 8th St. General admissiontickets cost $30, $10 for MDC students.
