The Sizzling History of Miami Cuisine

08/15/13 - 1:30 -Syndicated food columnist Linda Gassenheimer, Special wine correspondent Fred Tasker and WLRN host Bonnie Berman interview author Mandy Baca. Her book is The Sizzling History of Miami Cuisine: Cortaditos, Stone Crabs and Empanadas.  She recounts the history of Miami cuisine from the Tequesta Indians to the present–day local food revolution. A Miami native, Mandy studied at the Hospitality School at Johnson & Wales University and holds a master’s degree in Italian gastronomy and tourism from the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Colorno, Italy.  On the second half of Topical Currents Thursday at 1:30pm.
