Palm Beach County public schools want to shorten March’s spring break vacation by a day and cancel classes on the day of the March 17 presidential primary.
The proposed last-minute changes, little more than three months before the dates in question, ensure that no students will be in class when voters turn out at voting site on public school campuses.
To offset the canceled classes on March 17, the school district plans to shorten the spring break by a day, from six days off to five days off.
