Stoneman Douglas High Schoolwill be going to its first ever state title game in Class 9A title for baseball, after getting the 3-2 win over West orange High School. The Eagles will take on either Miami Columbus or Tampa Alonso Saturday at 4p.m. for the title.

Douglas alum Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs sent out a little love to his former team.

As Stoneman goes for its first championship, Archbishop McCarthy High School won its sixth state title in seven years. They defeated Lynn Haven Mosley 10-4 in Class 6A.

Archbishop McCarthy pitcher Yordani Carmona pitches against North Marion High School in the FHSAA Class 6A state semifinals at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers Wed., May 18, 2016. McCarthy would win via mercy rule in the bottom of the fifth inning fourteen runs to two ending North Marion's playoff run. Archbishop McCarthy will play Lynn Haven-Mosley in the 6A Championship game.

How dominant has this team been over the years? Head Coach Rich Bielski has won 186 games over eight years with the team. Oh, and six titles in seven years.

On a sad note, Monsignor Edward Pace lost in the final inning of the Class 5A state title game to Bolles out of Jacksonville 1-0.
