The Miami Dolphins say they're willing to foot most of the bill for a badly needed facelift for Sun Life stadium -- and are hoping state and local funding will supply the rest.  But lingering taxpayer anger over another stadium deal could be hanging over the proposal like a dark cloud.

Kickoff for the BCS championship game between Alabama and Notre Dame happens at 8:30 tonight. But fans from both teams have been showing their colors across Miami and South Florida all weekend.

The Miami Dolphins will be marking the 40th anniversary of one of the greatest feats in sports history this weekend.

Their perfect season remains intact, and that's cause for celebration.

In 1972, The Dolphins went a flawless 17 and 0 on their way to a title in Super Bowl VII, and four decades later they remain the last NFL team to make it through an entire season unscathed.

Last Friday night, the Miami Northwestern Bulls defeated the Miami Jackson Generals 21-13 in one of Miami-Dade's most famous high school football rivalries. Known as the "Soul Bowl," the two historically black schools used to draw tens of thousands of spectators to the old Orange Bowl. But over the last decade or so, the rivalry has been losing steam.

Girl Quarterback Turns Heads In Plantation

A high school senior in Plantation, Florida, is breaking a gender barrier in sports.  

A female quarterback has not only taken to the field, but she's also 
played in a game for her high school's 'tackle' football team. 

It's believed to be the first time that's ever happened in Florida, and the reluctant trailblazer is the real deal. 

It's a typical September Friday night at South Plantation High School.
