Miami Gardens To Host Formula One

The Miami Dolphins recently announced plansto host Formula One racing eventsat the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens beginning in 2021. Residents have expressed concerns about loud noises and traffic congestion that will come as a result of the races. If approved, the hosting contract would last for 10 years. Barbara J. Jordan, a Miami-Dade County Commissioner representing District 1, which includes Miami Gardens, joins Sundial to discuss the concerns she’s heard from residents and how much money Formula One could bring in.

Scientology In South Florida

The Church of Scientology faces multiple lawsuits in court for charges of sexual battery, racketeering and conspiracy. The most recent lawsuit was filed in Miami-Dade County against a church based in Clearwater, Florida. A woman alleges she was repeatedly abused by members of the church leadership. Tampa Bay Times reporter Tracey McManus has been covering the Clearwater church for years and joins Sundial with more insight about the most recent lawsuit. 

Esports Explosion In South Florida

The gaming company Millennial Esports will open the first electronic sports arena in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood in 2020. Matt Edelman is the Chief Commercial Officer of Super League Gaming, a start-up that organizes community-focused contests for amateur esports players. Tyler Winn, known in the gaming world as Yoyoman, is a Miami-based amateur gamer. Edelman and Winn discuss the explosion of Esports in South Florida.
