02/12/13 - Tuesday's Topical Currents looks at what should make us happy—but doesn’t—and what shouldn’t make us happy—but does.  We’ll speak with the author of THE MYTHS OF HAPPINESSSonja Lyubomirsky.  She says we give too much weight to initial emotional responses to events—both good and bad.  No matter the uplift or downturn, humans usually return to their initial happiness level.  Losing a job . . . or winning the lottery . . . has little effect on long-term outlooks.  Links:
