Author Salman Rushdie (Rebroadcast)

Dec 31, 2013

12/31/13 - Tomorrow’s Topical Currents is an interview with novelist Salman Rushdie, by literary contributor Ariel Gonzalez.  Rushdie, of course, authored Satanic Verses in 1988.  It enraged Muslim clerics, and Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini called for his death.  Rushdie was forced to live underground for years, with armed protectors ever present.  His latest book is a memoir of those times called Joseph Anton.  That was the alias he chose to use for many years. Listen to Topical Currents Tuesday at one o’clock.
