Over the weekend, President Donald Trump called off ICE raids that would have detained thousands of undocumented immigrants in cities all across the country, including Miami. The president said in a tweet on Saturday Congressional Democrats must submit to changes in asylum law, or raids would take place in two weeks. WLRN’s Sundial spoke with Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell of Florida’s 26th district just hours after she called for an impeachment inquiry into the president.

The Frost Chopin Festival and Academy takes place this week at the University of Miami for the second time. The annual week-long event features concerts from 30 highly skilled student musicians and performers from the classical genre, as well as master classes that the public is invited to sit in on.
