Florida is the second-fastest growing state, taking a back seat to only Texas in the number of newcomers, according to the latest report from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Sunshine State gained nearly 368 thousand new residents in the past year, beating California’s growth by more than 100 thousand people, according to the report.
However, Texas led the nation in overall population growth, with nearly 433 thousand new residents. According to the census, California now has 39.3 million residents, followed by Texas with 27.9 million. Florida officially has a population of 20.6 million.
