TPD Releases More Info On Murders of Salau and Sims

The Tallahassee Police Department says the sexual assault Toyin Salau reported before her death is not related to her murder. The Department also says Victoria Sims’ house had been burglarized. The two women were recently found dead on Monday Road. The case has sparked more outrage in Tallahassee, as friends and family grieve for the protester and the AARP volunteer.

Chynna Carney helped organize Monday night’s vigil on Monday Road, where her friend, Toyin Salau was found dead, alongside 75-year-old Virginia Sims. Carney says while Salau was only 19 she had survived being abused.

"Toyin had abuse within her family and outside her family, I can’t tell you exactly who or exactly what," Carney said.

On June 6 th, the same day she went missing, Salau described a man she says molested her in his home after offering to give her a ride and a place to sleep. In a series of tweets, she was trying to escape quote: “unjust living conditions” and wasn’t staying at home. On June 11 th, another missing person's report was filed for Sims. Her home had been burgled and a car stolen. TPD says information gathered there led them to Monday Road, where the two women were found dead Saturday.

49-year-old Aaron Glee Jr has been arrested and is a suspect in the case. This was his 3 rd arrest in recent weeks.
