Your Tri-Rail commute is about to get more expensive.
Most train fares will increase — some soaring 107 percent — on Jan. 1 after a vote by the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority on Friday.
One-way fares will increase by 60 cents up to an increase of $1.85 for trips that cross four to six zones. Round-trip tickets will increase between 60 cents and $5.95. Riders buying 12-trip tickets will pay 41 percent to 82 percent more with fares costing an extra $8.75 to $47.50. Monthly and regional passes will increase by $10.
