Talk To Us: Do You Have A Relative Or Friend In A Nursing Home?

Some assisted living and nursing home facilities have eased restrictions on visitation amid the COVID-19 crisis, however important measures are still in place to keep families and their loved ones safe.

Since March, a majority of the COVID-19 deaths in Florida have come from nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The disease disproportionately affects seniors living in these facilities especially when they have pre-existing conditions, are isolated and sharing living spaces with others who may be infected, and receive care from staff who may be experiencing a shortage of personal protective equipment.

WLRN is committed to providing the trusted news and local reporting you rely on. Please keep WLRN strong with your support today. Donate now. Thank you.

Florida's Department of Health has only shared limited information with the public about positive cases and deaths from COVID-19. In the interest of transparency, we'd like to hear from you, particularly if you have a family member in a nursing home or long-term care facility, and have not received answers you've been asking for about their care.

What have you heard about their experience? Perhaps your friend or relative would like to speak with us, too?

Tell us your story by filling out the form below. Please be as detailed as possible.
