Alzheimers's Disease

NPR's Wendy Schmelzer reports that doctors from Duke and Johns Hopkins University have found a correlation between head injuries incurred during young adulthood and Alzheimer's Disease. Their findings are published in the latest issue of the journal, Neurology. The doctors examined the records of more than 500 World War II veterans who were hospitalized with head trauma. They found a slight increase in the occurrence of Alzheimer's with those veterans who suffered serious head injuries.
