As a former marshal is preparing to leave the small town of Hadleyville, New Mexico with his new bride, he learns that local criminal Frank Miller has been set free and is coming to seek revenge on him.
In the small New Mexico town of Hadleyville, Marshal Will Kane is set to retire after marrying Amy Fowler. The couple plan to start a new life, running a store and raising a family elsewhere. However, their plans are disrupted when news arrives that Frank Miller, a notorious outlaw Kane had imprisoned, is being released and will arrive in town on the noon train, to exact his revenge on Kane.
The Marshal’s wife, Amy, a quaker and pacifist, urges him to leave before Miller arrives, forcing Kane to make a fateful decision by noon. What will he decide?
