WLRN Public Media is proud to host EcoFest 2020

Saturday, April 11th | 11am – 5pm at Mizner Park, Boca Raton

WLRN’s Eco Fest 2020 promises to be a day filled with education, interactive engagement, activities, and family fun. The purpose of this event is to celebrate Earth month by educating the public on the importance of all aspects of our environment and how our South Florida community can help with conservation and engagement efforts. This event will be free to the public and will be held at Boca Raton’s Mizner Park with more than 2,000 guests anticipated to attend.

The festival will include

  • Environmental non-profits
  • Eco-related vendors
  • Eco-friendly food trucks
  • Kid’s zone with interactive environmental exhibits
  • Meet your favorite PBS characters
  • Bounce houses
  • Private VIP tent
  • Live art
  • Music
  • A panel discussion with local environmental experts
  • A free amphitheater film screening of WLRN’s original documentary Troubled Waters: A Turtle’s Tale.
  • And much more!

WLRN recently produced its latest original documentary - Troubled Waters: A Turtle’s Tale, focused on educating the public on the effects of global warming, water pollution and our “throw-away” plastic lifestyle through the lens of Florida’s sea turtles.  The film along with our daily environmental coverage on local, national and international landscapes and our new environmental newsletter, have all been extremely successful within our community, indicating South Florida’s interest and passion for all thing’s environment. WLRN wants to elevate our service to the community even further by partnering with the City of Boca Raton to host WLRN’s first Eco Fest.
