Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness is expected to announce his candidacy for Congress on Monday evening — with the support of the late Congressman Alcee Hastings’ son.
Holness is widely seen as a top tier candidate to replace Hastings, who served more than 28 years in Congress until his death on April 6 at age 84.
The invitation from Holness said the event was to “determine my candidacy” for the seat. “I hope that you will be there to advise, guide and support me as we embark on this journey together and build upon Alcee’s cherished legacy.”
