This Tuesday night, the lighter side of the suffrage movement will take center stage at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center by the Thinking Cap Theatre to celebrate Women's Equality Day.

President Trump said he would pardon suffragist Susan B. Anthony, who was arrested after voting illegally in 1872. But the move got a mixed reaction in Rochester, N.Y., where she did much of her work.

For 45 years, Anthony traveled the U.S. relentlessly, stumping for women's rights. She endured ridicule, was hanged in effigy and faced many horrid meals on the road. Nevertheless, she persisted.
