The 2020 election focuses on Miami debate and voters
Miami was scheduled to host some kind of presidential debate next week. The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates, that organizes the events, announced Thursday that it would be a virtual debate.
Both campaigns responded differently. President Trump said he’ll only debate in person after recently testing positive for the coronavirus.
The Biden campaign proposed delaying the next debate until Oct. 22 — when the third and final debate is scheduled to happen in Nashville.
And Friday evening the commission announced that the debate would be cancelled saying in a statement, "it is now apparent there will be no debate on October 15," due to the differing proposals from the campaigns.
Despite the cancellation, both campaigns will continue the work of courting key voters in the area.
