'Bloodline' To Return To Screens — But Will It Return To Keys?

'Bloodline' is a dark drama that stars Ben Mendelsohn, left, and Kyle Chandler, right, as brothers in the prominent Rayburn family of Islamorada.

"Bloodline," the Netflix TV series set in the Florida Keys, is set to return for a third season.

That's according to social media posts on Twitter and Facebook, as well as a story in the Hollywood Reporter.

According to the stories in the Hollywood Reporter and Variety, the third season will have 10 episodes. According to Variety, "whether the show will continue to shoot in the Florida Keys ... remains to be seen."

A press release from the Keys Tourist Development Council states that filming for the third season "is likely to begin in the Keys" this fall.

Netflix posted on social media accounts Wednesday that 'Bloodline' will return for a third season. Still unconfirmed: whether filming will continue to take place in the Florida Keys, where the show is set.

The dark family drama stars Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek and Linda Cardellini, among others. They are members of the prominent Rayburn family, owners of a high-end resort in Islamorada.

But the return of black sheep son Danny Rayburn, played by Ben Mendelsohn, in Season 1 set off a series of conflicts and dark decisions for the family.

The first two seasons of the show are available for streaming on Netflix. According to the social media posts, the third season will appear in 2017.

The second season of "Bloodline," along with the HBO series "Ballers," was among the last film productions to use tax incentives provided by the state. The Florida Legislature did not renew those incentives during the last session, despite pleas from those in the industry and locations like the Keys that benefit from productions.

A study commissioned by the Florida Keys & Key West, Monroe County's Tourist Development Council, found that the first season of "Bloodline" was responsible for almost $6 million in direct spending in the Keys — and generated more than $65 million in tourism.
