INTERACTIVE: Can You Spot These South Florida Landmarks?

Wikimedia Commons
The Colony Hotel on South Beach is one of the landmarks highlighted in a survey by 360Chicago.com, which asked participants to recognize sites on a map.

The most recognizable landmark in Miami isn’t the historically Cuban enclave of Calle Ocho or the neon oasis of South Beach.

It’s apparently farther up shore at Bal Harbour Beach, according to a survey by 360Chicago.com.

The visitors site for a Chicago observation deck asked 2,000 residents from ten different cities to recognize several landmarks on a map.

Miami fared right in the middle, earning a "B-" among the list of chosen sites. Bal Harbour Beach was the best known landmark while the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables was the least known one.

How well do you know South Florida geography? Take our quiz to locate the landmarks highlighted in the survey and some extra credit sites from across Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach counties.
