Fault Lines: Exploring Race, Language & Candidate Favorability In Miami-Dade County

U.S. Senate Race Favorability

The race in Florida for the U.S. Senate pits a Spanish-speaking incumbent against a fellow native Miamian. Democrat Patrick Murphy has sent four years in the U.S. House representing Palm Beach County. Despite being born in Miami and growing up the Keys, he isn't well-known in Miami-Dade County.

Meantime, after six years in the Senate (and after an unsuccessful presidential run) Republican Marco Rubio does not suffer from anonymity in his home county.
