Gabrielle Garay

Gabrielle Garay is a WJCT News intern for spring 2018.

Gabrielle is a senior at Flagler College studying journalism and media production with a minor in advertising. 

Originally from Orlando, Gabrielle attended the Osceola County School for the Arts, where she majored in creative writing.

Before joining the team at WJCT, she was an intern for Ancient City Stories and Folio Weekly, where she has had several bylines. Her published work ranges from breaking news to in-depth feature stories.

In addition to sharing amazing stories, Gabrielle enjoys pugs and cooking recipes she finds on Buzzfeed.


The Florida House and Senate will vote Friday on similar bills that would make it easier for first responders dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to get the treatment they need.

The chambers will vote on HB 227 and SB 376. The similar bills are aimed at revising compensation for first responders dealing with job-related PTSD.

The battle to determine the future of Confederate monuments in Florida rages on. The fight for change has moved from protests and rallies to include a new platform: Florida state legislation.
