A major transportation project is moving forward in Miami-Dade.

This week, county commissioners approved a $14 million contract to design a monorail. It would run four miles over the MacArthur Causeway — connecting downtown Miami and South Beach by rail for the first time since streetcars made the trip in the 1930s.

Miami-Dade Commissioner Sally Heyman, who represents parts of Miami Beach, talked about transit with host Tom Hudson.
