A Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport TSA worker has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the agency said Sunday afternoon.
That brings the tally to two TSA officers in Florida who have tested positive for COVID-19, and six in the United States. The agency said Saturday night that a TSA screening agent at Orlando International Airport also contracted the virus.
The Fort Lauderdale airport officer "is receiving medical care and all TSA employees they have come in contact with over the past 14 days are self-isolated at home,” a TSA spokesperson said in a statement. “Screening checkpoints remain open and the agency is working with the CDC, as well as the Florida Department of Health, Broward County office to monitor the situation as well as the health and safety of our employees and the traveling public.”
