WLRN Radio Theater
From The Mercury Theatre to A Prairie Home Companion, the radio drama is a uniquely American art form, and one of this country’s most beloved. During the 1930s through 50s, live performances broadcast over the radio were a part of everyday life. WLRN, South Florida’s NPR news station, has partnered with the Arts Radio Network Theatre Project to present WLRN Radio Theater, a monthly broadcast of plays performed at venues throughout the four counties that comprise WLRN’s listening area. It’s the golden age of radio brought gloriously back to life, featuring some of South Florida’s finest actors.
