Fort Lauderdale Film Festival sponsors boost support to offset state funding cuts

The 39th Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival takes place this week. The festival was one of the many arts organizations negatively impacted by the governor’s veto of arts funding this summer.

The film Blind AF, which is showing at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival, tells the story of Shawn Cheshire a blind woman from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea who is striving to ride across the United States on a solo bike.

Robert Schwartzman is directing and producing the film "The Good Half," which is the opener for the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
