More than 45 artists and art educators will be honored during the ceremony on Wednesday. Honorees include major philanthropists Jorge M. Pérez and Darlene Pérez from the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), with awards presented by arts luminaries Mireille Chancy Gonzalez and Edouard Duval-Carrié.

The donation was announced Saturday night during PAMM’s Art of the Party gala, the museum’s biggest annual fundraiser where Pérez and his wife Darlene were honored.

“To Weave the Sky: Textile Abstractions from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection” at El Espacio 23, a contemporary art space in Allapattah, pushes the medium’s boundaries.

Jorge Pérez built Related Group into one of the leading condominium and apartment developers in the region, reshaping the South Florida skyline — especially along the waterfront.
