Latin American art

The National Museum of the American Latino’s new exhibit, “Puro Ritmo: The Musical Journey of Salsa”, is full of music and movement. The exhibit in Washington, D.C., highlights salsa’s Afro-Cuban roots, the genre’s impact on American music, and multiple South Floridians.

Drawing on Jorge Luis Borges’s short story “La Trama” (“The Plot”), curator Ross Karlan builds the exhibition “Re.Imagination” around the suggestion that history does not move in a straight line. It returns, each time slightly altered.
