Candidates Eileen Higgins and Emilio Gonzalez are scheduled to attend a public forum on Thursday at Miami Dade College's Zoubek Center.

The high cost of housing and other basic expenses in Miami is driving a conversation about affordability in the race for mayor this year.

“Commissioner Higgins leads among declared and rumored candidates by 21 points as the race takes shape among voters," the pollsters said in a statement.
