Henry Frederick Stuart was the best king Britain never had. As the son of King James I of England and Queen Anne, Henry was a master of warfare, educated in culture and art and quickly gained prominence within the royal family as a teen. He started the British Museum and the Royal Collection and was the first royal prince to back a permanent settlement on American soil in the early 1700s.  He was on the path to greatness and destined to sit on England's throne. This immersive documentary resurrects this forgotten prince from the shadows of history and reveals the tragedy of his lost potential.

Paul Murton of Grand Tours of Scotland takes us on a journey to investigate the mysterious disappearance from history of a forgotten Scottish prince.
Paul starts his quest in Stirling Castle where Henry was born in 1594 to James VIth of Scotland (soon to become James the First of Great Britain) and Anne of Denmark. In the Queen's Bedchamber, Paul meets the historian Sarah Fraser to start to trace out Henry's life. As he came into adulthood, the British Empire was taking its first steps into North America. Under Henry's patronage, a colony bearing the name Henricus was founded in Virginia - 14 years before the Mayflower and The Pilgrim Fathers sailed from Plymouth. Paul visits the town and learns how the lost prince's legacy changed history.

10pm SECRETS OF BRITAIN'S GREAT CATHEDRALS - Art/Culture - Much of Britain’s history, from the countless kings and queens to the English Reformation, can be told through the many cathedrals that dot its landscape. SECRETS OF BRITAIN’S GREAT CATHEDRALS explores 22 cathedrals and abbeys found throughout England and Wales, providing insight into these magnificent historical structures.

SECRETS OF BRITAIN’S GREAT CATHEDRALS combines unprecedented access and drone footage of these buildings with interviews of historians and religious figures to expertly illustrate how these structures have become markers of time and history.  Narrated by actor Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Shakespeare in Love), the eight-part series follows a 1,500-mile journey, through England and Wales, visiting 22 of the most breathtaking and influential cathedrals. SECRETS OF BRITAIN’S GREAT CATHEDRALS features spectacular footage of the abbeys’ facades and spacious interiors, as captured by drones. The series also includes interviews with leading deans, bishops, historians, architects, stone masons, tour guides, music directors, choristers, and other experts in the field as they reflect on the countless ways Britain’s cathedrals and abbeys reflect its history.
