9pm Tuesday MISS FISHER’S MURDER MYSTERIES Crime Drama
This stylish and sexy period mystery stars Essie Davis as Phryne Fisher, a thoroughly modern woman operating in a mostly male world. Set in 1920s Melbourne, the series follows the glamorous lady detective as she goes about her work with a pistol close at hand and, more often than not, a male admirer even closer.
In MURDER MOST SCANDALOUS, Phryne discovers someone she knows is being implicated in the murder of a prostitute. To solve the case, she goes undercover at a gentlemen’s club.
Dot's sister, Lola, visits and implores Phryne to investigate the murder of fellow showgirl Lavinia. Meanwhile, Jack's ex-wife begs him to take over the investigation of a murder in which her father apparently killed the woman inside a locked room. Jack and Phryne meet at the crime scene where it seems impossible for another to have committed the crime. Phryne goes undercover as a fan dancer and Jack visits the bordello (where the rich and powerful go to play and the police are definitely not welcome) to try to catch the real killer.
