Florida abortion bills
Florida is poised to have a changed landscape for abortions.
On Monday, a state senate committee passed a bill that would ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Currently, the state allows most abortions until the third trimester — or 24 weeks.

The bill is moving forward into its final stages to possibly become law.

Inter Miami stadium
The new Major League Soccer season is ready to begin in just a few days — Saturday to be exact. This is the earliest start for the season because of the World Cup.
And Inter Miami will be playing another season at its temporary home in Fort Lauderdale.
That’s because there is still no agreement between the City of Miami and the team on where a new stadium should go.
The plan was to build it on the Miami public golf course near the airport. But, according to lawyers on both sides, there are too many issues that still needed to be hashed out.

Stiltsville History
On the sand banks of Biscayne Bay, you can see a few wooden houses that seem to just float on the water.
These are the wooden homes of Stiltsville, built on reinforced concrete. At the height of its history, there were more than two dozen homes in that area. But after years of wear and tear, hurricanes, and even fires, there are only six such buildings left standing.
This month we’ve been reading ‘Stiltsville: A Novel’ by Susanna Daniel for the Sundial Book Club.
Dr. Paul George of HistoryMiami joined the program, to share history about the community on the water in its glory days and anecdotes he's collected over the years.
"My favorite story ... was the Bachelor party for Ted Kennedy in the early 1990s upon his second marriage and was held at that same place the [sic] Baldwin Sessions House. And Kennedy came with an entourage in a vessel, and they picked up what we call the Flagler Channel," George described. "So he's coming into the channel and you know, there's lights on in the house, generators are powering the place. Soon, as he got close to it, there was a steel band there and they just sort of struck up some music and they had just platters of food. And of course, since he was a good Irish Catholic, a lot of booze too, out there."
